This website was created by Clara Powis, an inspiring young fundraiser with a powerful mission. At just 18 years old, Clara has already raised over £40,000 in support of Hope House Hospice, a place close to her heart.
Clara began her fundraising journey in memory of her best friend Maya, who sadly passed away. Since then, she has dedicated herself to helping other children and families receive the same compassionate care and support that Maya did.
Through a range of events, challenges, and community initiatives, Clara continues to raise vital funds for Hope House, proving that one person can make an extraordinary difference.
We invite you to explore the site, learn more about Clara’s journey, and discover how you can support this incredible cause.
Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith care for babies, children and young people who have life-threatening conditions and are not expected to live beyond 18 years of age.
Hope House Children's Hospices is a charity that gives every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care and improves their quality of life from the point of diagnosis.
We also offer counselling and bereavement counselling to families of children who access our hospice services.
Our help is available to children and families living in Shropshire, Cheshire, and across Wales.
Anyone can refer a child whether they are a doctor, other health care professional or family member.
Hope House Children's Hospice, located in Morda near Oswestry, is a purpose-built facility providing vital respite, end-of-life, and home care for children and young people—typically from infancy up to age 18, and in some cases up to 25—with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. All services are offered free of charge, ensuring families can focus on love and support rather than cost.
Within its walls, Hope House offers a comprehensive, family-centred programme. This includes a hydrotherapy pool, sensory room, activity and music therapy spaces, a young person’s lounge, and dedicated family accommodation such as the calming Snowflake Suite, which provides a compassionate setting for families during sensitive times. The hospice also benefits from accessible gardens—featuring sensory areas, play zones, and peaceful outdoor retreats—designed to be nurturing and inclusive.
Hope House’s services extend beyond its walls through home nursing, counselling, physiotherapy, music therapy, sibling support, and emotional and bereavement care. These are available 24/7 and delivered by a multidisciplinary team including nurses, therapists, social workers, and bereavement counsellors—all committed to helping families live their best possible lives together.
